Biography: John "Bones" Noxon John Noxon, BA, MS, Hammond & keyboards player, has performed professionally since 1972 throughout the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento areas. His bands have opened for Huey Lewis, Van Morrison, Larry Graham, Billy Preston; and more recently, for Johnny Heartsman, Daniel Castro, Michael Burkes and Coco Montoya. Steeped in West Coast and Chicago Blues, Noxon is an aggressive Keys player, insisting on the "old school" sound of Hammond organ and Leslie speakers, with vacuum tubes and vintage JBL speakers in his equipment. In 2005, Noxon was a semi-finalist in the Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Noxon is also a "give-back" guy, currently serving his 4th term as Vice President and Events Director for the Sacramento Blues Society, which seeks to preserve and present Blues Music to area communities, and to also "grow" new blues musicians through live performances and workshops at local schools. |
