Biography: Franco "Kid Calico" Giovannoni Bass Guitar I started playing guitar when Surf music was popular. In fact, I showed OBD his first bar chord, and he went off running with it. I went through the British Invasion and in about 1967, I started playing bass. I was listening to Paul Butterfield and other blues artists of the time, and I fell in love with the blues. I went through the San Francisco sound and survived that. Then I fell in to the cosmic cowboy thing. Popped out of that, and went to Country Rock & Swing music. Somewhere in there I rubbed elbows with OBD again in a band called "Dickey Do & the Don'ts", OBD was Dickey. We did 50's Rock & Roll. Then I jumped in to the Country Rock and Swing while playing with "Windfall". Then I worked my way back to Rock & Blues music. So, here I am, playing with "Sleeper" and "Bone Jelli" . I've known most of these guy's for years, and they've turned out to be fine musicians. And, I'm glad to playing bass with them. When I started out, I had red whiskers and end up with white ones. But, all in all, it s been fun through out the years, beers, and tears. (And God willing) Many more years. |
